An Extract from Working in the Realms of Spirit - A conversation with our guides:

"What are we progressing towards?"

"You are working your way back to the source, where you came from."

"Where did we come from?"

"For the purpose of this conversation, we will call it the source. It's sometimes referred to as the godhead by some mediums."

"What is the source, and where is it?"

"The source is not a place but rather a vibration that we attune our minds to. You see we, as you know, are not burdened with a body. We are energy and we are able to exist in a communal, conscious state together. This may be a little difficult, but it's the closest I can get to describing it to you. This is where we come from and where we return when we have achieved the necessary enlightenment."

"So you go back to where you started, can you leave again?"

"Yes, but it will be a different journey as we retain our knowledge from previous journeys."

"How do you get there in the first place?"

"I thought that would come up. We are eternal; there is no first place. It will be hard for you to conceive but think of it as a circle - no beginning and no end."

"Yes, it is a bit difficult to get my head round. I suppose it's no different than trying to imagine the size of the universe."

"Good analogy. When we decide we are going to leave the source, we alter our consciousness to become aware of our surroundings on the lower vibration that is the spirit world. This encompasses heaven and earth and all that is in between. Our spirit becomes tainted with the feelings of deceit and mistrust that are in these realms. We then have to work our way through all of this until we have learnt to be unaffected by these feelings. This means we will experience all of the deceit and lies by travelling through an existence where we interact with all that is going on. We will take many journeys through the earth plane so that we can learn, and spend many of our years in the spirit world, both in heaven and surrounding the earth. We have to overcome personal feelings and understand how to allow thoughts and feelings to wash over us and drift away, without it affecting our spirit. During this time, we will work for the benefit of all we come in contact with, and ourselves, that we may progress back to the source. We will in the process learn one or more skills required to assist those we meet on our journey."

"Does that mean you have to learn everything before you can go back to the source?"

"No. The most important part of the journey is to become unaffected by negative influences. The only way to overcome these feelings is to experience them and deal with them. Much like when you need to put aside your personal feelings about someone so that you can help them. From your own experience, you will know it is not always easy. When we have come to that situation, we can then go back to the source, but it's a long journey. If you consider the different problems you face, then multiply that by humanity, then you will get some idea of the task."

"So are you saying you have to get to a stage of not caring about anything before you can go back?"

"No. We will always care, but we will gain the wisdom of knowing when to allow others the opportunity to learn from their experiences, rather than interfere with their journey."
